Better than a thousand days of
diligent study is one day with a great
teacher. -Japanese proverb
Having something positive to look forward to can relieve so much of the expectations we often place upon ourselves and the numerous obligations that inevitably accompany each year. When we allow ourselves the opportunity to really look inside and further our yoga practice in the company of others in a beautiful retreat setting and with the guidance of an inspiring teacher, we are essentially giving ourselves the greatest gift that not only benefits us, but those whose lives we touch. Change is imminent. Therefore, you are invited to use your breath and thus practice your yoga with the community at large over an extended weekend.

SANTA BARBARA
Spend four luxurious days/three nights practicing yoga on a beautiful, 150-acre ranch in the Santa Barbara mountains. Refresh your spirit, strengthen your body and clear your mind. Join us at Santa Barbara's Laurel Springs Retreat Center for an extended weekend yoga practice that will focus on finding your edge of effort and your comfort with stillness. Along with daily yoga classes in the inspiring yoga studio, activities will include plenty of leisure time. The grounds of the ranch offer beautiful ocean and mountain views, hiking trails, a large swimming pool, jacuzzi set near the cliff, grassy playing field, spring-fed swimming pond, and an abundance of contemplative settings for reading, writing, meditating, sketching, etc. Seasonal fresh fruit and vegetables grown on the ranch will be used in our delicious meals. Massage will be available throughout the weekend at an additional cost.

ACCOMMODATIONS
Most participants will reside in the “Lodge,” which was built in 1904, and completely refurbished in 2000. The classic feel has been preserved while it has been upgraded and modernized for comfort and style. Most rooms, reminiscent of cozy B&B‘s, have attached baths and will be assigned on a first come basis. Also in the Lodge is a welcoming dining room where we will enjoy our delicious meals, a lovely sunroom for relaxing and socializing, and a large poolside terrace.

Located only 20 minutes from downtown Santa Barbara, our retreat haven is situated at the top of a mountain ridge in Los Padres National Forest, overlooking the city, Pacific Ocean, and the Channel Islands beyond. These mountains were once a place of vision questing and shamanic conversions for the Chumash Native Americans. The Chumash presence can still be felt today.
